Our Printers |

|
For a long time, we were told by the main printing companies in the UK that there were two kinds of publishers: trade (who were charged over £1 a book to print) and mass market (who were not). Our MD, Catheryn Kilgarriff, worked as a Production Manager in children’s books and commercial design for many years before taking on this company. In 2002, almost three years of haggling later, a new company started printing paperback books, Bookmarque, owned by Fulmar Colour. Amazingly, Catheryn knew some of the directors from her work in commercial design, and suddenly we have become a mass market printer. We now have scales from the main printing firms which enable us to do print runs of 10,000 copies without going bust. Thank you, Bookmarque. For our four colour books (printers use four basic colours to create every other colour), we use printers in the Far East, which is cost effective and the quality is wonderful. We would like to get them printed in the UK, but at double the price we just can't.
